Rambo is our mascot and was adopted by our founder, Lisa Phillips. Rambo was stationed out of Cherry Point, N.C. for 2 years before he was injured while in routine training on a bite wrap. In April of 2012 after many months of not improving from the injury, and medical staff thinking it was in my wrist or elbow, they took x rays of Rambo shoulder and found that he developed severe degenerative joint disease in his shoulder. Due to his injury, and the pain medicine he was on that could damage his liver and kidneys, once he was adopted and settled into his new home, his left front arm was amputated at the shoulder to relieve Rambo of the extreme chronic pain he suffered. Rambo also suffers from allergies, he was allergy tested and show 18 high sensitivities. Due to his allergies he receives an allergy injection once every 5 days to de-sensitize him from the allergies.
